Job Responsibilities:

• Be part of the Legal team reporting into the COO, and overseeing all legal matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, managing risks and supporting Cobo’s business objectives
• Provide precise and timely legal advice on on-going commercial issues, contracts, product development and management, governance and corporate matters
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts, legal documents to support existing business activities and launch of new products and partnerships to mitigate and reduce Cobo’s risk exposure
• Independently review and develop contracts and standard T&Cs templates
• Identify and assess legal risk and develop strategies to mitigate them
• Stay abreast of regulatory developments in the crypto and web3 space, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions
• Lead and conduct training sessions to business on legal and regulatory matters

Job Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer ideally with at least 5 years of PQE in an in-house role in MNC or a reputable law firm. Senior candidates will be considered for Senior Legal Counsel position
• Graduated with a law degree from a major common law jurisdiction (SG/HK/UK)
• Experience and knowledge in blockchain/crypto products, transactions and regulations are highly preferred
• Proven experience in managing multiple high-priority projects and driving complex initiatives to fruition
• A strong desire to stay updated with recent technology developments and a quick learning aptitude
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with all levels within the organization
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a keen sense of legal and business judgment
• Native or high proficiency in English
